"The Three Person Field: Collaborative Consultation to Psychotherapy"
By Diane Engelman, Ph.D. and Steven A. Frankel, M.D.
Article published in The Humanistic Psychologist 30: 49-62 (2002)

Synopsis:
In this paper we describe an aspect of our work at the Center for Collaborative Psychology and Psychiatry. We use a collaborative model of assessment and treatment, overlapping at points with Finn's therapeutic assessment, and Fischer's individualized, collaborative assessment. Collaboration occurs between each member of the treatment team: client, clinician, and consultant(s). Consultation is also directed to the treatment dyad, the team leader offering fresh perspectives about treatment difficulties and progress. We make consultation to the treatment a standard part of our collaborative protocol, required for all comprehensive evaluations and treatments conducted through the Center.
